  2. I’m so sorry Anne is gone. We looked out for each other as neighbors, and Anne never missed a thing! Always keeping watch on us, and making us feel safe as a result. I suppose once a nurse, always a nurse. May Anne rest in peace. I would like to think of your mom as resting peacefully on a beach, picking up shells. My kids and I will miss Anne with her quick wit and sense of humor, trick or treating at her house and listening to her fun stories from her childhood in Guantanamo Bay.

  5. Heather, so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. I will always cherish the memories of us as kids in Gitmo and the kindness your mother showed me when we were kids. Your family was a big part of my youth in Cuba. May God bless you and your family during this most difficult time.

  6. We knew your mom for as long as we knew our own parents, and that dates back to 1951 when the first of us Kenneys was born.
Heather, Craig, and Christopher, Ann was one smart cookie, such an avid reader, and full of brains, wisdom. We are so sorry that she was so ill for the last few years, and please know that she will be missed. With love and sympathy to all three of you (“Musketeers”),

I loved watching tv with her (Monica). Loved to hear her biting commentary as she watched “the idiots and gangsters” on the telly.

  8. Heather and family, Mrs. Day made a great impact on the lives she touched. I’ll always cherish the good memories I have of her from Gtmo when I was a kid. Hunting for sea shells at Hospital K, going to the movies with her (she would make a big bag of popcorn with parmesan cheese), or just sitting around the table with her homemade lemon iced tea and talking the afternoon away. She was always a good listener and one for offering lots of wisdom as well. I pray she is in God’s hands and that we will all see her again one day. I also pray for comfort and understanding for those left behind that love and miss her. Love to you all. Vickie, Michael, and Hollie Brown
