Peter Bocouli Lee

October 13, 1938 - June 6, 2019 West Grove, PA | Age 80 Loving Husband, Father and Friend

Peter Bocouli Lee was born on October 13, 1938 to late George B. Lee and Reba L. Enos.

Peter was married on December 12, 1958 in New York to Margaret (Peggy) Eckert and shared 60 years together. He is survived by three children, Peter Daniel Lee, Dawn Marie Jackson and Rachel Lynn Cusamano. Along with his longtime childhood friend Raymond Wilson.

He was predeceased by five sisters Iris Lee, Cledith Moore, Priscilla Goodson, Winona Crampton, Rebecca Fillie and four brothers Freddy, George, Ward and Daniel (Danny) Lee.

Peter was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witness in 1971 and served as a faithful servant for over 40 years at both the West Chester and Kennett Square, PA congregations. It was common to hear him reading Psalms chapter 23, “Jehovah is my Shepherd. I will lack nothing…”

He loved being outdoors and worked as a grounds caretaker for over 40 years both in West Chester, PA and Unionville, PA, retiring from his last job at Pocopson Nursing home.

He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing (with his brother Danny), listening to the blues (Stone Crazy and Members Only), hunting, making wine from dandelions to hot peppers and of course the “Best Roast on the East Coast”. Peter will be remembered for his genuine kindness, his quiet demeanor and overall peaceful nature. He will be missed greatly but only for a short while….

His Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 Saturday afternoon, June 29, 2019, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3470 Gap Newport Pike, West Grove, PA 19390 (Chatham)

  1. I’m Cindy Court Paterson. Dawn and I are very good friends. Always have been since elementary school some 50 years ago. I love her. Her daddy, Mr Lee was always so kind to me. His eyes were so gentle and loving. This world was a better one with him in it.

  3. Bob and I remember when Peter and Peggy helped us move. We had a good time as well. Peter also helped us learn about the fruits growing on our new property. We loved his quiet, but helpful way. A true gentleman. We look forward to seeing him in the new system where all will be helpful and as loving as Peter.

  4. I have known Brother Lee since I was a small girl. I remember him as a loving, caring and a patient man. He loved Jehovah God, his family and the congregation. I look forward to seeing Brother Lee again in the new world when he will be back to his old self strong, healthy and helping everyone that he meets. I am greatly saddens by the passing by this wonderful man. I know Jehovah will remember Brother Lee. I am so sorry for your loss. Love, Donna

  5. When Peter was well he took such good care of my father spiritualy he sat with him read scriptures to him, brought him Prosciutto and fruit. He talked guy stuff with him, hunting and fishing and helped him to study with his friend Greg. Peter was a good friend to everyone. He was fun to go in he ministry with. The last time we were out with him he said, “ I used to be such a smart man”. We told him that he was a smart man and just because his brain was fighting him that didn’t take away anything. Jehovah remembers everything you’ve done. Peter knew that he was declining and he openly talked about it. He also had great taste in coffee!!! We will miss him so much!! We are so sorry for everyone’s loss!! Ben and Tina
