Geraldine Cousins

January 31, 1941 - March 8, 2020 Kennett Squre, PA | Age 79

On March 8, 2020, Gerry Cousins, 79, of Kennett Square, PA passed away in Penn Medicine, Chester County Hospital due to a Heart Attack and Pneumonia.

All services are being postponed.

Gerry Cousins was born in Manhattan, NY to John and Lucy Rosalia on January 31, 1941 and grew up going to public school in Queens, NY. Her first career was working for Miki Moto Pearls on the 97th floor of the Empire State Building. On November 9, 1963, she married Thomas Cousins in Sacred Heart Parish in Queens, NY. Together, they raised four children.

However, Gerry was more than just a homemaker; she was the center of the family’s universe and the life of every party. As she considered it, she was a ‘Domestic Engineer’ and was able to happily go above and beyond for her four children on the salary of an NYPD officer. Gerry cared for her family and everyone else as though they were family.

Gerry is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucy Rosalia. Gerry is survived by Tom, her husband, and her children: Bob, Cathy, John and James. She is also survived by in-laws Lynn Cousins, Chris Campbell, Tracy Cousins, Kim Cousins; and her nine beautiful grandchildren: Sean Cousins, Stephanie Campbell, Ali Cousins, Caroline Cousins, Sarah Cousins, Matthew Cousins, Aidan Campbell, Alex Cousins and Faith Cousins.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Penn Medicine, Chester County Hospital Foundation online at https://www.chestercountyhospital.org/giving/ways-to-give/make-a-gift-now. The family of Gerry Cousins wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses of the Chester County Hospital ICU Department for their exceptional care.

  3. Dear Tom and Family,
I could never say enough about how special she was and how much she meant to all of us. So many memories. When we were Freshman in high school, we used to walk home together and would talk the whole way. But we always had much more to say before getting home so we would turnaround and go back again. Even up to now, we never had enough of talking to one another, and I’ll greatly miss our long conversations.
I remember the first time she came to our house with you Tom. She was so happy, and I knew you were the one. The two of you were great together. You were the couple everyone wanted to be with, and I’ll always be grateful for the time we had with both of you.
She had wonderful kids and grandkids, a great husband and dedicated friends who will never forget her. No matter what came to pass, she was always upbeat and happy. She had it all and gave her all. Love you Ger!

She will always be in our hearts and remembered with such happy thoughts of who she was……. and the laughter we all shared.

  17. Our dearest friend, Tom and your family—-
We are soooo saddened by loosing “our girl” so suddenly. We love you Tom and you and Gerry were so much a part of our TAL life, but beyond TAL we were family. Loosing Gerry is a great loss for all of us. Stay strong family, our Tom needs you now more than ever. We remember Gerry always said she would die at TAL and had no desire to move into a community otherwise. She got her wish. Once we return, we will reach out. LOVE
