Carol Parrett Hammond, age 80, passed away on Wednesday May, 13, 2020 at ManorCare Health Services in Wilmington, DE after a lengthy illness. She formerly lived in West Chester, PA and Bethany Beach, DE
Born on June 30, 1939 in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Parrett, Sr. and Florence (Veazey) Parrett.

She is survived by her brother Richard Parrett, Sr. and wife Nancy (Bethany Beach, DE); sister in laws Joyce Parrett (Chadds Ford, PA) and Betty Parrett (Chadds Ford, PA); sons David Hammond (Patricia) of Ocean City, MD and Brian Hammond (Rebecca) of Lincoln University, PA; daughter Diane Hammond Watson (Jeff) of San Francisco, CA; thirteen grandchildren Jamie Hammond Testa, Jodi Hammond, Thomas Hammond, Paige Hammond, Nathaniel Hammond, Paul Hammond, Alexander Hammond, Abigail Hammond, Kevin Cloud, David Cloud(Callee), Scott Cloud(Katie), Kiarra Watson, and Kyle Watson; two great grandchildren William and Calhoun Cloud and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Parrett, Jr. (Kennett Square, PA) and Robert Parrett (Chadds Ford, PA).

Carol graduated from Unionville High School in 1957 and worked for Chester County Emergency Management Services as a Training Coordinator in West Chester, PA from which she retired.

She loved to sew, bake, garden, read, and especially spend time with her grandchildren. She loved taking long walks in Longwood Gardens and spend time at the beach whenever she could. One of her fondest memories was sitting at the bandstand in Bethany Beach.

  1. So sorry to hear about Carol’s passing. I worked with Carol many years ago in the radiology department of Chester County Hospital. She was our evening registrar. What a great lady. Think of her every Christmas when I hang a Santa painted on velvet she made and gave to me for Christmas. I remember her talking about Brian. He was going to engineering construction school if I remember correctly. My condolences to her entire family.
