  1. To Ella’s family, I am so very sorry for your loss. My daily dose of coffee was brightened by her shy smile and efficient manner. That she worked at Landhope as long as she did is testimony her to loyalty, dedication and reliability. But what I remember most and sincerely appreciated was her quiet grace as she worked. Ella was just a lovely woman. My daughter, Abby, and I will really miss her.

  4. Ella was certainly one of the cornerstones of Landhope. I looked forward to opening the store early with Ella every morning. She was not one to say much, but you always felt her presence. I enjoyed seeing her smile when she interacted with the customers. She will be missed by many customers, former and present co-workers and her family. My thoughts are with you all and I will miss her. She worked hard for many years and may she now rest in peace.

  6. Dear Ross Family…..
What an amazing lady Ella was….and like everyone else has said, that smile she had for everyone spoke volumes of what Ella was all about. Caring, hardworking, loving and determined. It was always a bright spot in my day when she would stop by the Kennett Area Senior Center….the last time I saw her was when she and our Joanie stopped by to say “hello”…..rest in peace, Ella…and fond memories are shared with Ella’s family.

  7. I worked 31 yrs at Unionville School district and always enjoyed Ella’s smile. One day last year she asked me “Goodness Jim, are you still working? ” I said golly Ella, I could ask you the same thing. We both had a good laugh over this. My deepest sympathy to all the family members mourning her passing. Ella, may you now rest in peace.

  11. To each of you who were part of her large family, you have my very deepest sympathy. I am so very very sorry for your loss and I also feel her loss deeply. She was a loving, hard working, faithful and kind wife and mother. She was so precious to all of us who knew her. My earliest memory of her was her working faithfully to have all of her 3 young step children and her own daughter dressed and ready on time for Sunday School and church. I recall Mother taking her to the Agnes Irwin Missionary Society monthly meetings as well. She never wanted to miss church or a missionary society meeting. If for some reason, Mother had forgotten to ask if she wanted a ride to church or a missionary society meeting, she would phone Mother because she did not want to miss an opportunity to worship with other believers from the very first day she moved to the farm. She worked so hard to take care of each member of her family. Shortly after I started teaching at Unionville, I recall her coming to a parent conference where a number of other parents were present. It was a general meeting where all parents came and individual parents met with individual teachers in a large room for an update on how each student was progressing. She was still in her 20s yet she was concerned about her eldest step daughter who was only a few years younger than she was. I was always so blessed when I saw her kind, large, warm, loving smile and of all things, I will miss that smile the very most. God bless each of you, her children, and keep each of you in His tender care. I most certainly will be praying for each of you in the days, weeks and months ahead. We weep for ourselves as we miss her but at the same time as we weep, we rejoice in Christ and the promises He gave us. He will never leave us nor forsake us if we put our trust in Him alone. But, we do weep because we miss Ella and can not imagine life without her. Lovingly,
