Sally Schmidt Young
June 7, 2023 Kennett Square, PA The Most Loving and Kind Wife, Mom and MommomSally (Schmidt) Young of Kennett Square, PA and New London NH, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on June 7, 2023 after a long and full life. Sally was born in Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA in 1932 to the late William and Louise (Pusey) Schmidt.
Sally is predeceased by her husband, Thomas, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage and her daughter, Christine Wright. Sally is survived by her children, Thomas W. Young, Sally Yacka, Deborah Thornton (Todd); her son-in-law, Steve Wright; her grandchildren, Becky Caldwell (Andrew), Devon Scales (Anthony), Andrew Yacka (Matilda), Melissa Wright (Conor Brady), Abby Duval (Martin), Stephen Wright (Aislinn), Tommy Thornton and Zac Thornton. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Finn, Addy, Dakota, Marcus, Brynn, Ella, Torin, Max, Theo, Zoe, Grant and Peyton.
Sally enjoyed traveling and living in many places throughout her life including Brussels, Belgium. Sally had a life-long love of Little Lake Sunapee in New London, NH, where family would come to spend time at “Camp Mommom”. Sally was the most loving and kind wife, mom and Mommom. She was very loved and will be missed deeply.

I had the pleasure of spending some time in the Young house in the early 1980s being a friend of Debbie. Sally was always sweet and a gracious hostess. Later I would run into her at Kendal Crosslands and it was always a pleasure. Holding the family in the light.
