  3. What a wonderful service Marvel and Smith provided to the Community. My mother used to send me uptown to pick out a houseware gift for a bridal shower or birthday! I could always find a deal and count on a smile from Raymond…he will be remembered as a part of West Groves History.

  4. Porter Family, Sorry to hear about your Fathers passing. He was a big part of West Grove with the hardware store in downtown West Grove. A wonderful man who always seem to know what tool or part I needed when I went in to get something for my fathers apartment house. He always said Conner with a smile what do you need now, let me see if I have it. Off to the back room and back he would come. He would say charge it and at end of the month we would pay the bill. I think he did this for a lot of locals. As young child I think I spent many a Christmas shopping for something special for my parents. The hardware store for the time period really had a nice selection of everything us locals needed. He was a people person glad to see us in the store . Later on I would see him in and about town and he always had time to talk. He may be opening a new hardware store up in heaven today. RIP Mr. Porter you were a great person.
