Albert William Erickson, Jr., “Bill”, age 90 of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully Friday, April 17, 2026 at Maris Grove with his adored wife by his side. Bill was the husband of Sylvia Larsen Erickson, with whom he shared nearly 70 years of happy marriage.
Born December 17, 1935 in Upland, PA, Bill was the son of the late Albert W. Erickson, Sr., and the late Laura Reid Erickson. Bill grew up on Lafeyette Avenue in Prospect Park, Delaware County where he played football and worked for a Bakery.
Bill graduated in 1955 from Prospect Park High School and attended Lebanon Valley College. He then went on to work at Sun Oil Company where he enjoyed a career of over 40 years working in the Autolab.
Later he and Sylvia moved to Chadds Ford, PA where he raised his family and lived for 28 years. During this time, Bill enjoyed the family pool and their annual vacation to Florida to visit family and friends.
Later he and Sylvia moved to Lincoln University, PA to enjoy retirement. There he held his Memorial Day picnics and played many rounds of golf with his family.
Bill was a member of the Hamorton Methodist Church for over 60 years, coached at the Brandywine Youth Club, and served in the United States Naval Reserves.
Bill was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Phillies and the Eagles. He loved taking his grandson to the 2008 Phillies World Series parade. He loved Penn State football as well.
In his free time, Bill enjoyed yard work, automotive repair, and completing projects around the home. He had a passion for fast cars, especially Chevrolets, and loved driving his red Corvette. He loved to golf and fish with his grandchildren, and to spend vacations with his family at Ocean City, NJ and Stuart Beach, FL. He also enjoyed the occasional cigar on the back deck of the beach house.
Bill had many friends with whom he and Sylvia shared many wonderful trips and great times. He tried to make friends with everyone he met, and would talk to anyone about anything. He made everyone feel special. Bill loved his family dearly and would tell you he had “the best family in the world!”
