Alice Genevieve Mehan

Alice Genevieve Mehan, age 99 of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Maris Grove.

She was the wife of the late Andrew Joseph Mehan, with whom she shared over 47 years of marriage prior to his passing.

Born 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, Alice was the daughter of the late John Joseph McLean and the late Genevieve Kline McLean.

After graduating from West Catholic Girls’ High School, Alice attended Immaculata University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology.

Alice loved sports and was a huge Phillies and Eagles fan. Though she loved rooting for her favorite teams, Alice was herself a talented athlete. She was an impressive bowler and golfer. She appreciated healthy competition. She was an avid reader, puzzler, and card player. When it came to bridge, Alice was a formidable adversary.

As a part of the greatest generation, Alice was not one to complain. She was always agreeable and laid back in her approach to all things. She loved music and a good party. You would often find Alice on the dance floor.

Alice is survived by her seven children, Anne Swain (Tom), John Mehan (Susan), Mae Kuplicki (Steve), Andrew Mehan (Janice), Eleanor Fobben (Edward), Paul Mehan (Susan) and Elizabeth Knaide (Ken); fourteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 9:30AM to 10:30AM on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 W. State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00AM at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Interment will follow mass at 12:45PM at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Rd, Springfield, PA 19064.
