Allen Robert Griffith Jr., A.K.A. “CHOP”, age 65, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, January 9, 2025. He was born on December 11, 1960.
Allen lived in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, and dedicated over 30 years of his career to Bank of America (legacy MBNA). Prior to his banking career he was a talented Auto body and paint technician. He was an extremely loyal employee who took great pride in his work. Allen truly loved his job and was a top performer throughout his career.
In his free time, Allen immersed himself into powerlifting, golfing, and gym work outs. Allen’s pleasurable passion was riding his Harley Davidson; the stories from his travels were endless. He loved road trips on his bike, riding through the countryside, stopping at little hole-in-the-wall bars, and striking up conversations with strangers; conversations that inevitably turned into unforgettable stories.
One of Allen’s greatest gifts, beyond his heart of gold and incredible sense of humor, was his ability to talk for hours. His stories were hilarious, captivating, and seemingly never-ending.
Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Susanne Eleanor Griffith. He is survived by his father, Allen Robert Griffith Sr.; his brother, Darren L. Griffith, and his wife Kimberly A. Griffith of Kennett Square, PA; his sister, Raquel A. Shatkus, and her fiancé Brett Douglass of Vero Beach, FL; and his beloved nieces and nephews, Brittany Griffith, Darren Griffith, Garrett Shatkus, and Gabrielle Shatkus, as well as great nephew Luca Griffith, and great nieces Camila Griffith and Khloe Grace Ciach, whom he adored.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 13th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 W. State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348 with a service to be held at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Longwood Cemetery.
