Amelia P. Cortez

Amelia Cortez of Oxford PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, at home . 

Born in Moca, Puerto Rico, she was the late wife of Miguel A. Cortez, she was daughter of the late Aniceto Perez and Francisca Alonso Perez.

Amelia enjoyed gardening, crafts, shopping and cooking.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She worked in the mushroom industry for many years Rex Mushrooms, Wilson Mushrooms.

She is survived by three sons,  Efrain Cortez of Oxford, Elias Cortez of Oxford , and Miguel A Cortez of Oxford; One daughter, Yolanda Cortez of Oxford,  four brothers Nestali Perez Alonso, Gilberto Perez Alonso, Quino Perez all of Oxford , and Domingo Perez Alonso of Kennett Square ; one sister, Carmin Ferrer of Puerto Rico; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers Ernesto Perez, Francisco Perez and one sister Idalia Valentín and daughter Carmen M. Perez.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, April 3, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm and Thursday morning, April 4, 2024, from 10am to 11am, at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 W. State Street, Kennett Square, PA.  Funeral Service will start at 11am, followed by interment at Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA.

Arrangements are being handled by Kuzo Funeral Home, Inc of Kennett Square.
