Barbara N. Steel

Barbara N. Steel, age 76, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the Chester County Hospital. She was the wife of Herbert Thomas Steel, who passed away in 2022, and with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

Born in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late George R. Newell and the late Edith Ayers Newell.

Barbara was a Registered Nurse at Linden Hall in Kennett Square, PA, retiring in 2006 after 20 years of service.

She enjoyed going to her summer home on the Chesapeake Bay, boating, camping, NASCAR,  gardening, traveling and being with her family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Gregory Thomas Steel of Kennett Square, PA; one daughter, Greta Denny and her husband Michael of Toughkenamon, PA;  one sister, Marcia Powers of Dover, DE and 2 grandchildren, Rebecca Denny and Austin Denny. 

You are invited to visit with her family and friends from 11:00 to 12:30  on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA. Her Funeral service will follow at 12:30. Burial will be at the Union Hill Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett Square, PA.
