Betty S. (Badger) Kessler

Betty S. Kessler, age 92, of Landenberg, PA, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Brackenville Center. 

Born 1934 in Ashe County, NC, Betty was the daughter of the late James D. Badger and the late Edna Sheets Badger. 

Following high school graduation, Betty worked for the DuPont Company for over 40 years. After retirement, she worked at various daycares and greatly enjoyed working with children. 

Betty enjoyed reading and traveling across the country in her RV. She was always affable and liked to make new friends. 

She is survived by her nieces, Ellen M. Swenson (Thomas), Amy E. McMullen (Jerry) and Barbara Horne (Charles); nephews, James M. Ioannoni (Kathy) and Robert J. Badger (Nicole); and stepdaughters, Kathy Kochan (Mike) and June Oppenheim. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald E. Riale; second husband, John J. Kessler, Jr.; son, Scott D. Riale; brothers, Robert C. Badger and James R. Badger; sister, Dorothy B. Bove; and nieces, Wendy A. Shaw and Dawn M. Harris. 

You are invited to visit with Betty’s family from 10:00AM to 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 W. State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Services will begin at 11:00AM and burial will follow at Longwood Cemetery.
