Brenda F. Church, aged 55 of Lincoln University, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 10, 2025, while surrounded by her family.
Born 1970 in Jennersville, PA, Brenda was the daughter of the late Earl Church and the late Hilda ‘Gay’ Blevins Church.
She worked with Meals on Wheels for a time and had so much fun delivering meals to people’s homes.
Brenda was a girl’s girl. She loved shopping, nail polish, and makeup. Her favorite colors were pink and purple. She also had quite the eye for fashion and took notice of a great outfit. However, Brenda wouldn’t only notice someone’s style; she complimented them on it. She always had a kind word for everyone she encountered. Whether she liked your blouse, your hairdo, or thought that you had a great smile, Brenda made a mission of spreading joy everywhere she went.
Brenda enjoyed dressing up and never missed an opportunity to trick or treat on Halloween. It was one of her favorite holidays. She adored Stitch (from Lilo and Stitch), Paw Patrol and her favorite kind of dog was a German Shepherd. Brenda appreciated a good meal out and liked Applebee’s and Red Lobster, to name a few. She loved to travel to Atlantic City and the beach. The beach was one of her favorite places to visit.
Brenda enjoyed her life to the fullest. She brought happiness to all, and her vivacious spirit will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Carrie Gay Hernandez; sisters, JoAnne Briggs and Bertha Jane Hambleton (Jeff Hambleton); her brother, Thomas Earl Church (Laura Swisher-Church); brother-in-law, Morris Hughes; nieces, Abigail MaKena Church and Amanda Faulkner; nephews, Garrett Daniel Church and Carson Hughes; as well as her best friend, Felice Williams. Brenda was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, James Briggs.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at New London Presbyterian Cemetery, 1986 Newark Rd, Lincoln University, PA 19352. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brenda’s name may be made to Meals on Wheels of Chester County, 404 Willowbrook Lane, West Chester, PA 19382.
