Charles L. Fean Jr., born in Camden, NJ in 1943, passed away on March 31, 2025, at West Chester Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in West Chester, PA due to complications from Parkinson's disease and a past stroke.
Charles was the beloved son of Charles and Alberta Fean. He is survived by his sister, Rosemary Detskas (Richard) of Kennett Square, PA, and his nephews Andrew and Evan Detskas, as well as his niece, Katie Detskas Miller (Timothy) and cousins.
He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from St. Joseph's College in Philadelphia and later obtained an MBA from Drexel University. He served honorably in the U.S. Army, performing molecular biology research at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Washington D.C. Charles began his professional career at Allied Signal Corporation, Morristown, NJ. He subsequently formed American Fluid Conditioning, Inc., a distribution and manufacturer's representative company of technical process equipment to the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. In later years he transitioned into business software consulting.
In his personal life, Charles was an avid golfer and sailor, enjoyed playing jazz on his keyboard, visiting fine art galleries and dedicating time to volunteer work in politics. Known affectionately as "Chod" by his family, he will be remembered for his sense of humor, his kindness to his nephews and niece, and his love for a good Manhattan.
He will be interred at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, NJ. Service and interment will be private.
