Charles “Pep” Fragale

"Decency, humility and kindness"

Charles Pep Fragale, age 92 of Kennett Square, passed to glory on December 8th 2023. He died peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Pep was born in 1931, in Kennett Square, in the house he would be raised in with his parents, Giuseppe and Rose (Fazio) Fragale

Pep graduated from Kennett Square High school and following graduation, he served with honor in the Army during WW II. Upon his discharge, he returned home and was involved in the mushroom industry for most of his adult life, working not only with his own familys business, but with many of the growers in the area as well.

Pep was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church in Kennett Square for many years. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and enjoyed many hours of fellowship with his pisanos at the Italian American Club. Pep was a diligent and dedicated worker as well as a humble and loyal friend. He always had a smile or a kind word to share with everyone he met. He loved spending time watching old western movies and sharing stories with the ones he loved. Pep never sought the limelight or any of the earthly trappings this world had to offer. Decency, humility and kindness is what he will be remembered for.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Mary Chickie Fragale, a sister, Lena (Fragale) DiGiancinto, and brothers Robert J. Fragale and Anthony Fragale. He is survived by seven nieces and nephews.

There will be a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Patricks Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348 on Monday, December 18, 2023. Interment will be private following the service.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Pep in a special way may make a contribution in his memory to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
