Corneilia “Corky” Swenson Connor, recently of Lincoln University and formerly of Ambler, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025 at the age of 83 at Twin Pines Health Care Center in West Grove, PA. She was born in Philadelphia on May 23, 1942 to David and Caroline (née Shaner) Swenson. Corky is survived by her two children Douglas Connor, Jr. (Melissa) and Victoria Connor Ivie (Tripp), and her four grandchildren Morgan, Douglas III, Katy, and Connor. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Douglas Lee Connor.
Corky grew up in Mount Airy and was a graduate of Cecilian Academy (1960) and earned a B.S in Business Administration from Drexel University (1966). In 1965, she was crowned Miss Philadelphia. Her passions included cooking, caring for animals, learning new languages and traveling all seven continents. She worked in many roles in the food industry, including as a caterer, cooking-school teacher, and member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs. She was a life-long student who continued to study languages and history. Corky also enjoyed volunteering at Tri-State Bird Rescue in Delaware.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tri-State Bird Rescue in Newark, DE.
