David James Regester

David James Regester, 83, of West Grove, PA passed into the loving arms of Jesus on November 18, 2024, with family by his side. He was the husband of the late Berlia A. (Brooks) Regester, sharing 62 years of marriage. Born in Laurel, Delaware, he was the son of the late Gifford W. and Sarah (Strickland) Regester.

David grew up in West Grove. He graduated from Avon Grove High School and enlisted in the US Air Force where he was a flight mechanic with the 27th Tactical Fighter Wing Division. He then returned to West Grove and farmed the family property. He was employed at the DuPont Experimental Station for 37 years and was awarded several patents for his innovative designs.

David was a great resource to many as he was able to build or fix just about anything, or if he couldn’t, he knew someone who could. He used his skills and tools to help others and volunteered for many church mission trips. He enjoyed farming, hunting, collecting and restoring John Deere tractors, Cletrac equipment and pedal tractors.  He loved having his family close by and liked to take road trips with Berlia, spending a lot of time in Mifflin County, PA. His care and advocacy for Berlia throughout her illnesses was commendable. One of his greatest passions was perfecting the art of cutting, splitting, stacking, and delivering the finest quality firewood in the area!

David is survived by daughter Doris (Lawrence) Oranzi of West Grove, daughter Joan Regester of Oxford, son James (Daneyeil) Regester of Lincoln University and grandchildren: Rachel, Tom, Cassie, Jimmy, and Emily. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Regester of West Grove and was predeceased by his sister Margaret (Peggy) Berdoulay.

Funeral arrangements will be at Foulk Funeral Home, 200 Rose Hill Road, West Grove, PA 19390. There will be a viewing on Monday, November 25 from 5:00 to 7:00pm.  There will be an additional viewing on Tuesday, November 26 from 9:00 to 11:00am; with a service at 11:00am. Interment will follow funeral service at Longwood Cemetery. Please join the family for food and fellowship at Stillwaters Presbyterian Church, 643 Coatesville Road, West Grove, PA 19390 immediately after interment.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to benefit the flood victims of North Carolina through Samaritan’s Purse or any disaster relief program.
