Donald Taylor Robinson Jr.
September 23, 1943 – April 23, 2026
Donald Taylor Robinson Jr. passed away April 23, 2026, at age 82. He was raised in Horsham Township, Pennsylvania.
He was married to Marlene Robinson for 36 years. They met through ballroom dancing.
Don was Professor of Law and Justice at Rowan University, where he later retired, and also taught at Temple University and the Temple University Police Academy. Earlier in his career, he served as a police officer in Horsham Township. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a weather specialist aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.
A lifelong student and scholar of scripture, Don studied at Philadelphia College of Bible, served as an elder at Old Pine Presbyterian Church and Bristol Presbyterian Church, and in later years led a weekly men’s Bible study until his death.
He had a deep interest in history, particularly Winston Churchill and Holocaust education. He served on the Interfaith Council on the Holocaust and taught Lessons of the Holocaust.
Following retirement, Don helped Marlene build Mrs. Robinson’s Tea Shop and became its first in-store staff member, a familiar and valued presence among customers and staff.
He shared his life with many beloved cats and was affectionately known as a true “cat whisperer.”
Don was predeceased by his parents, Donald Taylor Robinson and Emily Turner Robinson.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Robinson; his siblings, Ken Robinson and Louise Harrar; his children, Donald Robinson III; Harry Richard Robinson and his wife Erin, along with their children, Alessandra Robinson, Sebastian Beaulieu, and Lincoln Beaulieu; and Katherine Robinson Kane and her husband Dustin, with a grandchild expected this month.
Don will be remembered for his faith, humility, intellect, and generous spirit.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Kennett Square Presbyterian Church. All are welcome to attend.
