Elaine M. Hertzog, age 80 of Kennett Square, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. She was the wife of Philip G. Hertzog, with whom she shared nearly 30 years of marriage.
Born 1945 in Lancaster, PA, Elaine was the daughter of the late Ralph Z. Gibble and Anna Ober Gibble.
Elaine spent many years active in her church leading Sunday School and singing in the choir. In her free time, she enjoyed curling up with a good book. Elaine appreciated nature and found that being outdoors never failed to fill her with joy.
Elaine was a humble, gentle woman whose beauty radiated from the inside out. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her husband, Philip, Elaine is survived by six children, twins A.J. and Angee Kreider, Beth Maday, Chris Hertzog, Jaime Barber and Gretchen Pacinelli; her brother, Ken Gibble; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley Kreider and her brother, Cliff Gibble.
Services for Elaine will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Elaine’s family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to Waterway Church, 550 Waterway Rd, Oxford, PA 19363.
