Ella Jean Peirson Leach, age 97 of Unionville, PA, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Ware Presbyterian Village under the care of Willow Tree Hospice. She was the wife of the late Thomas C. Leach, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage prior to his passing in April 2009.

Born October 21, 1924 in Unionville, PA, Ella was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude Fenstermacher Peirson.

Ella was a graduate of Kennett High School, class of 1942. She was employed with Ways Greenhouses in Kennett Square for 70 years.

Ella was a member of Unionville Presbyterian Church and a former member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, the East Lynn Grange of East Marlborough, the Womens Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital and was a charter member of Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company Auxiliary.

She enjoyed baking cookies to give away to friends, sending cards and spending time with her family and many friends.

Ella is survived by two daughters, Patricia Kofke and her late husband, Wayne, and Judy Leach and her husband, Richard Schreep; grandchildren, Timothy Kofke and his wife, Emily, Allison Kofke and her husband, Mike Nguyen, Carl Schreep, Ellana Schreep and her husband, David Bewick; great grandchildren, Charlie and Henry Kofke and Ella Schreep Bewick.

In addition to her husband, Thomas, Ella was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Leach, Jr. and son-in-law, Wayne Kofke.

Ellas service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Unionville Presbyterian Church, 815 Wollaston Rd, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Interment will be private at Unionville Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Ellas name may be made to Unionville Presbyterian Church (815 Wollaston Rd, Kennett Square, PA 19348) or to Unionville Cemetery (P.O. Box 394, Unionville, PA 19375).
