Franklin W. Hackman, Jr., age 77 of Cochranville, PA, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 2, 2024, while surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dorothy Lawrence Hackman, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
Born 1946 in Coatesville, PA, Frank was the son of the late Franklin W. Hackman, Sr., and the late Helen Ada Bailey Hackman.
Following his graduation from Scott High School, Frank worked in the Coatesville Steel Mill. He was a dedicated employee and worked there for 57 years in various positions.
Frank enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like spending time with his family and mowing the lawn. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frank was a hard worker his entire life but when he took a moment to relax, he enjoyed watching movies with his family. He also liked basketball and music, especially Motown.
In addition to his wife, Dorothy, Frank is survived by his sister, Ruth Freeman (Daryl) of Oxford, PA; two grandchildren, Nicole Swain (Justin) and Charles Holcomb (Melanie), all of Oxford, PA; as well as five great grandchildren and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Holcomb and her husband, Charles, as well as his sister, Helen Baker.
You are invited to visit with Frank’s family and friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Cochranville Methodist Church, 92 Church Street, Cochranville, PA 19330. His funeral service will begin at 3:00PM. Interment will follow services at Cochranville Methodist Cemetery, 147 Cochran Street, Cochranville, PA 19330, followed by a fellowship luncheon at Cochranville Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, his family kindly requests donations be made to Brandywine River Valley Hospice, 1011 W. Baltimore Pike, Suite 208, West Grove, PA 19390 or to Christ Church at the Grove, 1772 New London Rd, Landenberg, PA 19350.
