Gary Wayne Barber

Age 75

Gary Wayne Barber, age 75, of Sebastian, FL and formally of Avondale, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian, FL. He was the husband of Rosemarie Tootie Pia Barber, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Wayne R. Barber and the late Marian Miller Barber.

Gary was an electrician at the DuPont Company in Wilmington, retiring in 2003 after 34 years of service. Gary also served his country in the United Sates Army.

He was a member of St. Sebastian Church in Florida and a member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Parish in Avondale, PA. Gary was a member of the American Legion Post #491 in Kennett Square.

Gary was an avid golfer, enjoyed the Florida sun fishing, looking for seashells and being with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Rosemarie, Gary is survived by his sister, Suzanne Winslow (Francis); a brother in law, Richard Pia, Sr. (Gloria); nephew, Richard Pia, Jr. (Jessica); nieces, Lisa Saunders and Christina Niki Pia; great nephews, Connor Saunders, Logan Saunders, Luca Pia, Alessio Pia, and Joe Sciarra; as well as great nieces, Olivia Bassett(Kevin) and Gina Sciarra.

You are invited to visit with Garys family on Saturday August 20, 2022, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Parish, 8910 Gap Newport Pike, Avondale, PA 19311. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00AM and interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery on Rt. 82 in Kennett Square, PA.
