Guy Terrell Glass, age 90, died Sunday, September 7th, 2025 at his home, surrounded by members of his family. He was the husband of Lana Glass, with whom he shared 40 years.
Born 1935 in Houston, Texas he was the son of the late Thomas Glass and the late Camille Adams Glass.
Guy started his career as a teenager working as a rough neck in the oil field, then joined the Army in 1954, serving with the 82nd Airborne in Germany. After returning home he acquired a Houston barber shop which he shared with his brother, Warner Baxter; subsequently taking employment with Global Marine and joining the crew of the Glomar Explorer. He later returned to the Briargrove barber shop which he owned for 40 years and continued working until retirement at the age of 62.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, and mountain climbing and had a passion for his dogs and cats. Accomplished in many areas of construction, he built his own house with the help of friends on Lake Livingston, Texas.
Guy was a devoted member of Alcoholics Anonymous, having recently reached his 42nd year of sobriety. During that time he sponsored and mentored numerous other AA participants.
Guy is survived by his wife, Lana, daughter Peggy, daughter Pam and her husband Steve, and son Jason and his wife Brenda, as well as four grandchildren, Colin, Olivia, Jason Jr., and Zachary, three great grandchildren, Zoe, Guy, and Mac, a sister, Ann Nygren and numerous nieces and nephews.
