James Allen Price, age 69, of West Grove, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Christiana Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the devoted husband of Donna Price, with whom he shared 49 wonderful years of love and companionship.
Born in 1956 at Wilmington Hospital, he was the son of the late Daniel Cleveland Price Jr. and the late Mary Shirley Price-Parsons.
Allen attended Avon Grove High School and proudly joined the United States Army during his senior year. He dedicated many years of his life to the mushroom industry, working for Laurel Valley Farms and Amycel. Later, he followed his passion for cars and mechanical work, managing shops including the Fuel Stop in Avondale, Pennsylvania, and the Exxon in Hockessin, Delaware.
Allen’s greatest passion in life was his family. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply and treasured every moment spent with them. He enjoyed trips to the mountains, as well as fishing and camping. Most of all, he cherished the quiet moments—spending evenings watching the sunset or television, hand in hand with his beloved Donna.
In addition to his wife, Allen is survived by his children: James Price and his wife, Andrea; Justin Price and his wife, Melissa; and his daughter, Ashley Price. He was a proud grandfather of four grandchildren Wyatt, Ethan, Aubrey, and Jaxon. He had many nieces and nephews, most of whom referred to him as “Pops.” He is also survived by his siblings: Cleve Price, Wilma Jones, Joyce Mayo, Janice Price, Lorie Thompson, and Stephanie Courtner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Price-Maxwell.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on April 11 at 1:00 PM at 236 Pennocks Bridge Road, West Grove, PA 19390.
Allen will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the quiet love he shared with those closest to him. His memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.
Arrangements by Foulk Funeral Home of West Grove, PA.
