James Voytilla Obituary

James Finley Voytilla, 88, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, in Yardley, Pennsylvania. Born on February 11, 1937, in Waynesboro, Virginia, James lived a life marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

A proud veteran, James served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959 as a member of the Air Force Band. His commitment to military service continued in the U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1981 until his retirement in 1997 as a Master Sergeant and Load Master. His years of service reflected his steadfast discipline and pride in supporting his country.

James pursued higher education later in life and graduated in 1973 with a degree in Business Management from the Pennsylvania Military Academy, now Widener University. His professional career was spent with DuPont and Remington Arms. It was at Remington where he found his greatest professional fulfillment—actively participating in shooting competitions and product activities that combined his work with his passion for marksmanship.

An avid outdoorsman throughout his life, James found joy and camaraderie in hunting trips shared with family and friends. He was an enthusiastic participant in the Wild Turkey Federation and cherished every opportunity to be out in nature. These moments were more than hobbies—they were traditions that strengthened bonds across generations.

James was deeply devoted to his family and took great pride in being regarded as the patriarch of an extended and loving family network. He is survived by his sons Steven and Thomas; daughters Linda and Sharon; brother John; sisters Mary Partridge and Carol Warner; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Marie, his brother Richard, and son Michael.

His legacy lives on not only through those who knew him but also through the values he instilled—loyalty, perseverance, love of country, and devotion to family.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
