James "Jimmy" Cookman of West Chester, PA, moved on to the next chapter of life, Sunday May 17th, 2026 at the Chester County Hospital due to complications from chemo treatment.
Born November 1961, at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He was the father of one son, James "Tony" Cookman, and a son to mother Joan Madonna Cookman and his late Navy Senior chief father, James "Cookie" Cookman, a late Sister Joanne Leigh Cookman, and late brother John Joseph Cookman.
Jimmy, provided for his family as a skilled maintenance professional and CDL driver for the QVC production team. His title was sustained 30 years, due to his consistency and willingness to put in the extra effort, through overtime and sometimes working 7 days a week to help their company grow and thrive. After 30 long years of hard work jimmy retired from QVC.
Jimmy was a dedicated father and a beloved son as well as a great friend to many. He did whatever was needed for the people he loved. Jimmy went out of his way to make sure that the ones that were around him had what they needed, and if it was in his power to help then Jimmy had no problem lending a hand. Whether it was a simple phone call or spending Saturdays behind the wheel to drive his friends and family where they needed to be. He showed time and time again that he was someone that you could count on. Jimmy was definitely a man of his word and he proved it on many occasions by making himself available in his spare time for whoever was in need.
Jimmy loved fishing, live music, NASCAR, the Miami Dolphins for being the ONLY NFL team to ever have an undefeated season, the Broad Street Bullies, and of course the ponies of the trifecta. For leisure you could catch him in the garage during thunderstorms with a cold one just listening to Rock n Roll while watching the storm roll by.
Jimmy will be missed by many. Whether it be for his laugh, his kind nature or his cool, calm and collected demeanor.
The door is open to you to join his family and friends in the celebration of his life from 5pm-7pm on Friday May 29th at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 West State st, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Funeral services will begin at 7:00PM. Burial will be on Saturday, May 30th at St. Patrick Cemetery. All are to meet at the cemetery at 10:30AM.
