Janet Forte, age 79 of Kennett Square, PA, died Thursday February 5th, 2026 leaving behind a life defined by curiosity and a deep appreciation for knowledge. She was the wife of Albert Forte, with whom she shared nearly 58 years of marriage. Born on June 28th, 1946, in Flushing, New York, she was the beloved daughter of the late Helene and Joseph Caramella.
Janet graduated from St.John’s University with a degree in education. She valued learning in all its forms and approached life with an inquisitive mind. She loved to read and had a particular interest in history, always eager to better understand the people and events that shaped the world. A natural conversationalist, Janet loved to talk and had a wide circle of friends who will remember her for her engaging presence and thoughtful exchanges.
Janet enjoyed traveling and valued the opportunity to see new places and learn about their history and culture. Even with her many journeys, Lancaster remained one of her favorite destinations. After many meaningful visits, she chose to settle nearby in Kennett Square, where she found comfort in the area’s character and sense of community.
Janet is survived by her loving husband, Albert; her children, Caroline and Stephen (Kathleen); her grandchildren, Allison (Peter), Matthew, and Natasha; as well as her brother, Joseph (Joan).
