Obituary of Jennifer Hope Blackburn
Born April 21st, 1969
Joined her brother in Heaven on November 22nd, 2025
Jennifer Hope Blackburn, 56 years of age, left this world warm in her bed in the presence of loved ones in Landenberg, PA after succumbing to a persisting illness. Jenny was an affectionate sister to us all who brought much needed silliness and innocence in an existence that, at times, desperately needs both. She was born to Barbara Blackburn and James Robey in a family of ten children at Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, DE. Jenny graduated from high school and went on to work at Handi-Crafters as an assembly line worker. She was dedicated to her employment and loathed to miss a day. Her last years were spent at Active Day, where she made many friends and added names to her list of loved ones. She was truly committed and loyal to her friends and family, always inquiring how others were doing and what they were up to. Being in her presence offered others a break from the stressors of life, as she brought out the child in us all.
Jenny had a passion for journaling, art, and spending time with those she loved. She enjoyed going to concerts, family vacations, and just being out in the world. She loved listening to music, like that of John Denver and Patsy Kline. Her favorite movies were Bride Wars, Frozen, and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. She would watch those movies on repeat, making you watch them with her, which you would do because it brought her joy and you would find it brought you joy as well. Innumerable memories of laughing, baking, and family excursions will reside in our hearts eternally. We have watched a flower gracefully fall to the ground from our family tree and will be forever changed in our grief and profound loss.
Jenny is survived by her nieces Lori, Andrea, and Victoria, as well as her nephew Daniel and mother by circumstance Cathy Blackburn. Her title was aunt by name but sister by heart for those who knew her best. She is also survived by her brother Steve, who was a great pillar of strength for her in her last days, as well as three biological sisters. Jenny was also loved by her great nieces and nephews: Jacob, Zachary, Alyssa, Keira, Jocelyn, and Carly as well as a great-great niece Karsyn. She is also survived by cherished family members Michael and Lisa who were always there for her and loved her dearly. Jenny leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and family in the many hearts she has touched while on this Earth. She was a hope in the dark and a light in our hearts.
“We still hear your laughter. Rest easy, beautiful soul” -Perri Ormont Blumberg
