Jettie Taylor Obituary

Jettie I. Taylor, age 97, of Avondale, PA, went home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2025, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt and friend.

Born in Ashe County, North Carolina in 1928, she was the daughter of the late Wade Miller and Cora Darnell Miller. She married the love of her life, the late Cleve Taylor, on December 10, 1949, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage before his passing in 1995.

Jettie had many simple things that brought her joy throughout her life. She enjoyed cooking for the ones that she loved. She was famous for her biscuits and chocolate gravy. Nobody ever left her home feeling hungry or unloved. She enjoyed tending to her garden and canning her vegetables. She had a profound love for bluegrass music; Ralph Stanley most of all. She enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals and you hardly ever walked into her home without hearing it playing on the radio. She also loved her game shows and rarely missed a night of watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Everyone who knew Jettie knew she was the happiest when she had a baby in her arms.

Jettie is survived by two sons, Larry Taylor (Alma) of Oxford, PA; Doug Taylor (Julie) of Kennett Square, PA; and one daughter, Donna Osborne (Jack) of Avondale, PA. Jettie was extremely proud to tell everyone about all the grandchildren who knew her as “Maw Maw.” She leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three of her children; two sons, Jay Taylor and Ronnie Taylor; and one daughter, Kathy Miller; one grandson, Michael Taylor; one son-in-law, Wayne Miller; and one daughter-in-law, Robin Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her siblings; Joseph, Harlow, Reba, Ocie, Hazel, Polly, and Lilly.

Her family will forever cherish her love, her laughter, and her steadfast faith. While she will be missed beyond measure, we find comfort in knowing she now walks with Jesus in her heavenly home.

You are invited to visit with her family and friends on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9:00-10:30am at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA.
