Had a Kind Heart and Wonderful Sense of Humor
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of John B. Ciavatta, of Kennett Square, PA, who died suddenly on March 7, 2022, at the age of 81 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Carol Ciavatta; Brother, Frank J Ciavatta; nephews, Dominic and Vincent Ciavatta, as well as other numerous relatives and friends, especially Ronnie Caputo.
He was pre-deceased by his loving parents; Frank and Josephine Ciavatta.
John B. Ciavatta, was born on September 8, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA. John attended St. Patricks Grade School and Kennett High School graduating in 1957. He then enlisted in the Army where he served as a helicopter mechanic with duty stations in Korea, Hawaii and Fort Carson Colorado.
After serving in the military, John began his career working with the Philadelphia Transportation Authority as a conductor which continued until his retirement. His love of trains and steam engines resulted in a rewarding profession with the railroad.
John was kindhearted and respected by his coworkers. He was friendly to all and had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Services for John will be private.
