John James McClenaghan, 58, of West Grove, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife, Denise McClenaghan.
Born on March 2, 1967, in Havertown, Pennsylvania, John was the beloved son of the late John and Rosemarie McClenaghan. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will always be remembered for his humor, generosity, and welcoming spirit.
John found his greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures — spending time on his boat on the Chesapeake Bay, listening to music from classic rock to country, and cooking for family and friends. He loved hosting gatherings for football games and holidays, always keeping his home filled with laughter, warmth, and an open-door policy for everyone he knew.
John was a devoted husband, father, brother, and proud new grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Denise; his daughters, Meghan McClenaghan and Heather Holliday (Alex Holliday); and his cherished grandson, Brady Holliday, who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Compton (Scott Compton), Rosemary McClenaghan, and Jeanne McClenaghan.
After the passing of his parents, John was blessed with a loving second family, Rich and Patsy Marland, and their children, Chris and Danielle, who remained an important part of his life.
John’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His life was one filled with love, laughter, and the joy of bringing people together.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 2nd, from 12-4 PM at the Chesapeake Inn Restaurant & Marina - 605 2nd St, Chesapeake City, MD 21915. Family and friends will gather to honor John in the way he would have wanted — surrounded by good food, music, and the people he loved most.
Arrangements by Foulk Funeral Home of West Grove, PA.
