John (Jack) Springer, age 85, of West Grove, PA died peacefully Friday, July 3, 2026 at the Chester County Hospital with his wife Linda by his side, with whom he shared nearly 66 years of marriage.
Born in West Grove, PA, he was the son of the late John and Hazel Springer.
John is survived by his wife, Linda his daughters Debra Akerman and her husband William, Susan Hannum and her husband William, and son Philip Springer and his wife Tuesday: as well as four grandchildren, Courtney, Amy, Joshua and Brittany and great-granddaughter Stevie. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Springer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Carlin and great-grandson Bentlee.
John built a life defined by hard work, curiosity, craftsmanship and as a family friend recently described “a quest for adventure.” For most of his career, he was a self-employed welder and fabricator, earning the respect of those around him through his skill and dedication to his craft. Beyond his work, John's curiosity and creativity were reflected in the countless hobbies and interests he pursued throughout his life. An avid outdoorsman and sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, competitive fishing, and archery. He especially enjoyed time spent at the family cabin in Potter County, riding snowmobiles and ATVs with family and friends. He explored bee keeping for a number of years and enjoyed gardening. A gifted woodworker, he created beautiful pieces that his family will cherish for generations. He also fulfilled his passion for aviation by earning his IFR certification and piloting his own Cessna. A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, John rode cross-country to Alaska twice, once with a dear friend and once with his devoted wife.
John's beloved dachshund, Tootsie, was his faithful companion for many years and will continue to bring comfort and companionship to Linda.
