It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kelly Ann Fries, a beloved mother, devoted wife, and a beacon of love and positivity. Kelly left us unexpectedly on August 31st, 2024, at the young age of 56, after a courageous battle with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) that she faced with unparalleled strength for 25 years.
Born on October 23rd, 1967, Kelly was known for her infectious smile and unwavering spirit. She met her husband James (Jimmy) Fries while he was working at his convenience store down the block. From the first time she walked in and purchased her Marlboro Reds and Pepsi, Jimmy was in love and knew she would be his wife, and he was right. Jimmy and Kelly shared 34 beautiful years of marriage at their home in Nottingham, Pennsylvania.
Together with her husband, Jimmy, she poured her heart into their restaurant, creating not just meals but a warm gathering place filled with love and laughter. After their recent retirement, she cherished every moment spent with her family, especially her daughters, Kellirae and Jamilee.
Throughout her life, Kelly's resilience shone brightly. Despite her health challenges, she fought valiantly, motivated by her deep love for her family. Every day Kelly woke up she treated it like the most amazing blessing to be alive, walking through every day with such fierce joy and love for life that it spread through any room she entered. Her spirit will forever inspire those who knew her.
Kelly is survived by her husband, James Fries, her daughters, Jamilee Sumner & Kellirae Sexton, three grandchildren Kora, Axel, and Brody Sexton, and a community of friends and family who will miss her deeply.
In celebration of Kelly’s life, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26th at the Kennett Square VFW from 1-5PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Gift of Life, as Kelly was able to donate her organs as one final act of kindness, honoring her legacy of love and strength.
Rest in peace, dear Kelly. Your light will continue to shine in our hearts.
