"Butchie"

Louis Butchie Mario Marson, Jr., age 81 of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Chester County Hospital while surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Patricia A. Marson, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

Born 1942 in West Chester, PA, Louis was the son of the late Louis Mario Marson, Sr. and the late Mildred Giroso Marson.

Butchie was the owner and founder of Greenwood Mushrooms. He was a member of the Italian American Club, the Kennett Optimist Club and coached KAU Little League.

He enjoyed Italian food, working with his sons and spending time with friends and family. Butchie especially looked forward to Thursday night family dinners.

In addition to his wife, Pat, Butchie is survived by his three sons, Louis M. Marson III and his wife, Karen Delaney Marson of Kennett Square, PA, Christopher E. Marson and his wife, Edith Chase Marson of Kennett Square, PA and Matthew J. Marson and his wife, Traci Rebman Marson of Chadds Ford, PA; two sisters, Mary Lou Madron of Kennett Square, PA and Joanne Marson of Wilmington, DE; five granddaughters; and one great grandson.

You are invited to visit with Butchies family on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM and again on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 25 at 12:00PM at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348 and interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.
