Louise Walker Obituary

Age 89
Known for Her Sweetness and Big Smile

Louise (Tootie) Smith Walker, age 89 of Avondale, Pa, passed away peacefully at her home on August 19, 2021.

Born November 16, 1931 in Yorklyn, DE, Louise was the daughter of the late Leedom Smith and the late Clara Sharp Smith.

Louise graduated from Kennett High School in 1949. She married her late husband, Alfred D. Walker, in 1952, and they shared 58 years of marriage prior to Alfreds passing in 2014. Louise was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Kennett Square, Pa. In addition to attending services there for many years, she enjoyed volunteering in the childrens nursery.

Louise loved flowers and birds, especially geraniums and cardinals. She enjoyed swimming, knitting, and rooting for her favorite teams, the Phillies and Sixers. Louise was known for her sweetness and big smile that seemed to never leave her face. She was always happy to be with family and loved being surrounded by little children. Louise was a wonderful mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Louise is survived by her daughters, Beverly Haines, (the late, Tom), Carol Watterson (Tom), Jan Die (Kirk), and Nancy Walker; her brother, Leedom Smith; her sister, Anne Thompson; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson (Dave), Allison Haines, Corbin Watterson (Rachel), and Morgan Skatz (Matt); 3 great grandchildren, Nasir Curtis, and Cameron and Wesley Watterson; several nieces and nephews; as well as her pretty cat, Ollie. Louise was predeceased by her brother, Robert Smith and her sister, Jane Berube.

Louises daughters would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to her caregiver, Patricia Weber, Willow Tree Hospice of Kennett Square, Pa, and Right at Home of Gap, Pa. The compassion, support, and kindness shown to them during this difficult time will not be forgotten.

Services for Louise will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Louise, be made to the Kennett Square Presbyterian Church, 211 S. Broad Street, Kennett Square, Pa 19348.
