Mary Rebecca "Becky" Worrall

Mary Rebecca Worrall (“Becky”), age 78, of Oxford, PA, passed away June 2, 2024, in the Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. 

She was the 4th of 4 children born to the late William H Worrall and the late Margaret Kitts Worrall.  Becky’s Worrall family has been a part of Kennett Square, PA, since the 1860s, when her great-grandfather arrived to set up business as Undertaker and Cabinetmaker.  Only her brother, William S Worrall, II, and wife Barbara are still living in Kennett Square.  One sister, Susan Stanford (John) and several cousins keep in touch from VA.  Becky was predeceased by her beloved older sister Margaret Mallon.  In all, twenty-three nieces and nephews and their children live from the east coast to the west.

Becky had very little formal education but loved learning.  As an adult, she worked in packaging at Handi-Crafters near her then-current group home in Chester County, and did very well. She loved being named Employee of the Month.  Becky managed to navigate her life circumstances as they unfolded around her from a very early age, and became a force to be reckoned with. She shared much of whatever she had (not ice cream!), let everyone know who was boss (she was!), and loved her “Brother Bill” and The Three Stooges—usually in that order.  She helped many people to develop a level of patience and empathy that they might never have realized, had she not cleared that path of learning for them.  She, herself, truly loved to learn, although her capacity for learning was not nearly as robust as she would have liked.

Our Becky will be greatly missed, but we are all a little better people for having known her.

You are invited to visit with Becky’s family and friends at 10 AM on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348.  There will be a brief service at 11 AM, following visitation.  Interment at Union Hill Cemetery will be private.
