Michael R. Hanna, Jr., or “Mike” as he was affectionately known, passed away at age 83 on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at West Chester Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Robette “Robbie” Hanna, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2025.
Born 1942 in Lafayette, IN, Mike was the son of the late Michael Hanna, Sr. and the late Naomi Taylor Hanna.
Mike graduated from Chalmers High School in 1960. After graduating, he enlisted in the Indiana National Guard.
He worked as a fabricator for multiple companies over the years, and was most recently employed by Spanco in Morgantown, PA.
Mike was deeply devoted to his late wife, Robbie. When Robbie was sick and living in a nursing home, Mike would visit her every single day. The two also shared many hobbies. They were both avid readers, enjoyed playing cards, taking camping trips together, and most importantly – spending time with their friends and family.
Mike is survived by his son, William “Bill” Hanna of West Grove, PA; his sisters, Judy Seese of Monticello, IN, and Barbara Mathew (George) of Wolcott, IN; as well as his nephew and godson, Wade Mathew (Cheryl); his sister in law, Janice Ragan (Ron); nephews, Greg Foltz (Kim), Emily Foltz, Aaron Ragan (Emily), Stacey Hallman (Mike); great nieces and nephews, Taylor, Ella, Graydon, Zalie, Denton, Wyeth, Sawyer, Bradley (Trista), Dylan (Gracie) and Haley (Hunter); and great-great nieces and nephews Hazel, Kinsley and Bryson.
He was preceded in death by his brother in laws Stephen Foltz and Dalton Seese.
A private service will be held by family at a later date in Monticello, Indiana.
Arrangements by Kuzo Funeral Home of Kennett Square, PA.
