Nicholas C. Spanos, 64 years old, resident of Seaford, DE, passed away on December 3, 2018 at Lofland Park Center.
Born on May 19, 1954 to Greek immigrant Charles N. Spanos, and Geraldine Moore Spanos, Nicholas grew up in Kennett Square Pennsylvania, surrounded by the strong bond of small town friends and neighbors.
Kennett Square patrons watched Nicholas “Nicky” grow up as a child in his family’s diner and later as a teen playing for the local high school basket ball team. As a young adult, Nicholas married and became father to son Charles “Chucky” Spanos and daughter Crystal Spanos. He remained in Kennett Square to raise his family in the town he had become so close with. Kennett Square locals continued to look out for Nicky while in the care of his mother, Geraldine following a motor vehicle accident.
Nicky enjoyed walking his home town daily under the loving watch of his family, friends and neighbors. Nicholas lived a full and happy life with his doting mother until her passing, at which time he came to live with his dedicated son and relocated to Seaford Delaware. Nicholas remained in his home for 18 years, surrounded by his growing family and Seaford friends who had come to care for him just as much as the town he grew up in.
Many people have been touched by knowing Nicholas, and all will agree; Nicky had a great sense of humor, loved to have a good time, loved his family, loved his pets, loved his coffee and loved his cigarettes.
Nicholas will be remembered as father to Charles N. Spanos and wife Christina K. Spanos. He was grandfather to Amber Spanos, Nicholas Spanos, Cristian Rodriguez, Reyes Rodriquez, Tyler Spanos, Evan Spanos, Gracelyn Spanos and great granddaughter Jade Serrano. He is survived by his big sister Judith Galloway, a niece Karen Meck, her husband, 4 children and 9 grandchildren; a nephew Greg Meck, his wife and 2 children.
Nicholas is preceded in death by his loving parents Charles and Geraldine Spanos, beautiful daughter Crystal M. Spanos and nephew Kevin A. Meck.
