Pedro Maria Solanet

Pedro Maria Solanet, age 86, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in his home in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, surrounded by his loving family. He was married to his devoted wife, Rose Tornquist, with whom he shared a life rooted in faith, love, and service.

He was the proud and loving father of twelve children: Pedro, Fernando, Felipe, Rose, Maria, Marcos, Pablo, Esteban, Juan, Javier, Mila, and Lucia. He was also a cherished grandfather of 29 grandchildren and a great-grandfather of 2, all of whom were a source of immense joy and pride for him.

A humble and compassionate man, he devoted his life to caring for others. He was a deeply faithful Catholic, and his trust in God guided every aspect of his life. He lived his faith quietly but powerfully, through generosity, patience, and a sincere concern for those in need.

For many years, he practiced in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, where he cared for countless patients with dedication and kindness. He served a large Hispanic community, which he deeply loved and admired. He shared in their lives, respected their culture, and treated every patient with dignity and compassion. To many, he was far more than a physician—he was a source of peace, comfort, and reassurance.

He was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a man whose life was defined by service to God and to others. His legacy lives on in his family and in the many lives he touched.

He will be profoundly missed, but his faith, humility, and love will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

A public visitation will be held for Pedro on Friday, January 2nd from 9-10:30 AM at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 W. State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Funeral service will be private. Burial will take place at 2:00PM at St. Patrick Cemetery, 460 N. Union Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348.

Pedro Maria Solanet, 86 años, murio el domingo 28 de diciembre de 2025, en su hogar de Kennett Square, Pensilvania, rodeado de su familia. Estaba casado con Rosita Tornquist, con quien compartió una vida marcada por el amor, la fe y la entrega a los demás.

Fue padre de doce hijos: Pedro, Fernando, Felipe, Rose, María, Marcos, Pablo, Esteban, Juan, Javier, Mila y Lucía. Fue además abuelo de 29 nietos y bisabuelo de 2, quienes fueron para él una gran alegría y bendición.

Hombre humilde y generoso, dedicó su vida a servir a los demás. Fue un católico profundamente creyente, y su fe fue el pilar que guió su vida, su familia y su vocación. Vivió su fe con sencillez, coherencia y amor, siempre pensando en el prójimo.

Durante muchos años tuvo su consultorio en Kennett Square, Pensilvania, donde atendió y acompañó a innumerables pacientes con dedicación y calidez humana. Cuidó especialmente a una numerosa comunidad hispana, a la que quiso entrañablemente. Respetó su cultura, compartió sus luchas y alegrías, y trató a cada paciente con dignidad, respeto y compasión. Para muchos, fue más que un médico: fue una fuente de paz, consuelo, y de gran apoyo en momentos difíciles.

Fue un marido, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo ejemplar,  y un hombre cuya vida estuvo marcada por el servicio a Dios y a los demás. Su ejemplo y su legado permanecen vivos en su familia y en todas las personas que tuvieron la gracia de conocerlo.

Será profundamente extrañado, pero su fe, su humildad y su amor vivirán para siempre en el corazón de quienes lo amaron.

El viernes 2 de enero, de 9:00 a 10:30 a. m., se realizará un velorio público para Pedro en la funeraria Kuzo, ubicada en 250 W. State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. El funeral será privado. El entierro tendrá lugar a las 2:00 p. m. en el cementerio St. Patrick, 460 N. Union Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348.
