Richard Brown Obituary

Richard Nunzio Brown, age 76, died peacefully on July 14, 2026 at his home in Kennett Square, PA.  Richard was born in Philadelphia, PA where he resided for most of his life.  He was the son of the late Ellwood and Katherine Brown.  Richard was a proud graduate of Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Temple University.  He taught for many years at the Rhodes School, as well as Delaware Valley Charter School.  His commitment to his students was strong and unwavering.

Richard’s greatest passion was his family, particularly his dear siblings, precious nieces and nephews, and his family and devoted friends in Mount Airy.  He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, a voracious reader, and a lover of history and sciences.  Richard possessed great compassion, a sophisticated sense of humor, and was an engaging conversationalist.

Richard is survived by his loving siblings, William Brown (Maria), Kathleen Crombie, Nancy McBride (William) and Judith Virgilio (Stephen).  His nephews and nieces and grand nephews and grandnieces all adored him.  He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Edwin Crombie of West Chester, PA.

You are invited to join Richard’s family on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 11 A.M. for a visitation, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Kuzo Funeral Home, located at 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA  19348.  Burial will be private.  The family requests, and would appreciate, your donation to the National Spasmodic and Torticollis Association (www.cdtorticollis.org).
