Richard Butch Greco passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2017 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, PA. Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Peter Anthony Greco and the late Mary Hovanes Greco.

Growing up in Mt. Carmel, PA, Richard graduated from Mt. Carmel High School. He continued his education by attending Bloomsburg University where he earned a Bachelors degree in Education. He later moved on to teach Math at Kennett High School from 1968 to 1997. Richard was the kind of teacher who made a lasting impression with many of his students. Former students of his often kept in touch to share stories of their achievements. This was in part because of Richards charismatic personality, but also because these students felt that Richard was the kind of teacher who had helped them to realize their success.

Richards favorite place to be was in the great outdoors. He was a member of the Turbotville Recreation Club, where he spent his time hunting and fishing with the other club members.

Richard was a fun-loving man with an amazing sense of humor. He always had a joke on the tip of his tongue and brightened the day of anyones path he crossed. Richard was a kind and caring person and he will truly be missed by all that knew him.

Richard is survived by his sister, Carol Barhydt and her husband, Gordon of Bellingham, WA; and two nephews, Richard Barhydt and his wife, Laura of Manassas Park, VA and Kevin Barhydt, his wife, Laralyn and their children, Parker, Ellie and Kaila of Boulder, CO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richards honor to Trout Unlimited, PO Box 7400, Woolly Bugger, WV 25438, an organization dedicated to conserving, protecting and restoring North America’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds. Alternatively, memorial contributions may also be made in Richards memory to any charity of your choosing. Services and internment for Richard will be held privately with family.
