Sarah Moore Burkey Sue, age 91, of Wilmington, DE, died Friday April 22, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of the late Roy H. Burkey Jr. who died in 2003 and with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in Wilmington, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ellen Brooks Moore.

Sarah worked in various capacities during her career including Insurance Agent at Kt&D Agency and Jester Costume Shop both in Claymont DE. She enjoyed all types of crafts including making jewelry and Christmas ornaments. She also volunteered at events to raise money for low cost spay /neuter for various animal groups in Delaware.

She was the most loving, patient, and fun mom and grandmom anyone could ever want. She will be greatly missed by everyone

Survivors include one son, Lee A. Burkey of Avondale, PA; one daughter, Suellen Burkey of Wilmington, DE; one brother, John Moore and is wife Gloria of Lake Wales FL; two grandchildren, Jake Burkey and his wife Lia of Avondale, PA and Emma Burkey and her fianc Christopher of West Chester, PA and three great-grandchildren, Brittany, Leo and Jacob.
