Sarah Zimmerman Obituary
Sarah Lee Zimmerman (nee Lippincott), died at Kendal Longwood on February 28 at the age of 98. An Astronomer, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degreefrom the University of Pennsylvania College for Women in 1941 and Swarthmore College in 1942 with a Master’s degree.
She was Professor Emerita and Director Emerita of the Sproul Observatory at Swarthmore College.
Sarah was predeceased by her husbands David C. Garroway and Christian B. Zimmerman. She is survived by the children of her late husbands and extended family.
A Memorial service is scheduled for Friday July 5, 2019 2-4PM at Kendal Longwood.
