Shannon Holohan Cooke

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Shannon (Holohan) Cooke—beloved wife, mother, daughter, niece. Shannon passed away on March 15, 2024, at 36 years of age. She bravely endured chronic heart conditions for many years while continuing to care for her husband and children.

Shannon’s early childhood years were spent in Glenolden, PA. She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Collingdale, PA and then began high school at Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill, PA. Her family then moved to Chester County where Shannon went on to graduate from Avon Grove High School in West Grove, PA. After high school, Shannon earned her Nurse Aide Certificate from Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC), in Lancaster, PA. She proudly and compassionately cared for both the old and young while working as a CNA whether in the home health/private duty setting or in several established elder care facilities.

Shannon loved the beach and time spent there as a child with her family. She treasured the magic that occurred on the Wildwood boardwalk and Christmas mornings as a child and strove to share that magic with her husband and children to create new memories together. Her time with them and the rest of her family was too short, but family will make it their mission to preserve her memory so that all she treasured endures and grows with her children.

Shannon was preceded in death by her mother, Colette Holohan and is survived by husband Daniel and two children, Nicolette and Jackson of Ephrata, PA; her father, Anthony Holohan (Jani Yousif) of West Grove, PA; her sister, Noelle Williams (Aaron) of Charleston, SC; her aunt, Cindy Kunkel (Bill) of Newtown, PA; her uncle, Kevin Holohan (Kathya) of Collegeville, PA and her cousins Kyra and Kamryn.

Family and friends are invited to Shannon’s Life Celebration on Saturday, March 23 with a visitation from 10-11:30am followed by a brief service from 11:30-12:00pm at Kuzo Funeral Home, Inc at 250 W. State Street, Kennet Square, PA 19348. Burial at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA will be private.

Shannon's family has set up a trust to assist with future educational expenses for the Cooke children. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider making a donation to the Shannon Cooke Children Trust.
