Shirley F. Griffin, age 87 of Landenberg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Chester County Hospital. She was the wife of the late Philip Ralph Griffin, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2016.
Born 1936 in West Chester, PA, Shirley was the daughter of the late Joseph L. Wooten and the late Florence R. Wiggins Wooten.
For over 20 years, Shirley and her husband worked together for National Vulcanized Fiber.
Shirley was a hard worker who was not shy about speaking her mind. She had a great sense of humor and was fun to be around. She was an avid reader and enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and spending time in the great outdoors. Shirley and Ralph loved to travel and made it to nearly every state in the U.S. What Shirley loved the most was spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Shirley is survived by her son, Philip, Jr. Griffin (Diane); her daughter, Dawn Darlene Hill (David); five grandchildren, David Hill, Jr., Philip III Griffin (Kirston), Joseph Griffin, Christina Griffin and Teresa Griffin Palank (Brad); as well as great grandchildren, Emma Lee Palank, Raymond Anthony Palank and Grayson Caleb Griffin.
You are invited to visit with her family from 10:00AM to 11:00AM on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 W. State St., Kennett Square, PA 19348. Services will begin at 11:00AM. Interment will be held at Union Hill Cemetery.
