Silvio J. Raimondo, age 99 of Kennett Square, PA, died Monday, August 18, 2025. He was the husband of Stella Raimondo (nee Madonna) to whom he was married for 77 years. He was born in 1925 and was the son of the late Alberico and Antoniette Raimondo.
Silvio served in the Coast Guard during World War II aboard the USS Evansville. Silvio was a mushroom farmer for many years alongside his father and brother. When he retired from mushroom farming, he went on to work in the Unionville School District in their maintenance department. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church. Silvio loved gardening, woodworking, reading, and spending time with his family.
Silvio is survived by his wife, Stella; his children Albert (Linda), Sylvia (Charles), and Roseanne (James); as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Silvio was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Moschitta, and brother, Anthony Raimondo.
Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Silvio’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 or to Holisticare Hospice, 985 Old Eagle School Road, Suite 504, Wayne, PA 19087.
