Steven R. Petrucci of Nottingham, PA, passed away on February 3, 2026, in Lewes, Delaware, at the age of 78. Born on August 2, 1947, in Wilmington, Delaware, Steven led a life of dedication to his country, his community, and interests that brought him quiet satisfaction.
A graduate of Kennett High School’s Class of 1965, Steven began his professional journey at Acme before joining Verizon in 1976. He remained with the company for over three decades until his retirement in 2007.
Steven served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. From April 1969 to June 1970, he was stationed in Da Nang as a Seaman in the United States Navy. His military service reflected a deep sense of duty and commitment.
That same spirit carried into civilian life through his involvement with the Good Will Fire Company. In recognition of his contributions, he was named Firefighter of the Year in 1982.
Steven enjoyed a range of personal interests that brought him relaxation. He was an avid golfer and crossword puzzle enthusiast who appreciated time at the beach and classic television shows such as *M*A*S*H* and *Hogan’s Heroes*.
He is remembered by his brothers, James Petrucci Jr. and wife, Nancy; Ronald Petrucci—his twin—and wife, Kitty; and Dennis Petrucci and wife, Karen. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will hold dear their memories of him.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, James Petrucci, Sr. and Edith Petrucci.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 W. State Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. A brief prayer service will begin at 11:00AM, followed by burial at St. Patrick Cemetery.
