Thomas Albert Obituary

Thomas Lee Albert, age 76, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Jean Aussieker Albert, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in 1949 in Wilmington, DE, Tom was the son of the late Alfred Angelo Albert and Edith Ann Lee Albert. He was a graduate of Dickinson/McKean High School and continued his education at the University of Delaware and Widener University.

Tom met Jean early in his professional life while working in the commercial electrical and lighting industry. He built a successful career in finance, where he played an instrumental role in developing computer systems for the business and later served as Vice President. Guided by an entrepreneurial spirit, Tom went on to pursue several ventures of his own, founding Albert Enterprises, a computer and accounting business that reflected both his sharp business acumen and his ability to adapt and innovate.

Later in life, Tom followed a passion for agriculture, becoming a mushroom farmer in Kennett Square, where he grew and sold oyster mushrooms. In his final working years, he found great enjoyment driving a truck for Yates Produce. What he cherished most was not just the work itself, but the relationships he built along the way and the time he spent visiting with his customers.

Tom and Jean were true partners in life, sharing everything side by side. They supported one another through challenges, celebrated life’s joys, and raised their daughters in a home filled with laughter, love, and unwavering devotion.

A devoted father, Tom loved his daughters, Jennifer and Kristin, and took immense pride in being actively involved in their lives. He dedicated many years to coaching the Talleyville Girls Softball League, where his gentle demeanor, patience, and encouragement left a lasting impact on the young athletes he guided. When his daughters needed a sounding board, Tom was always there — ready to listen and offer thoughtful advice.

Tom enjoyed golfing and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, happily spending hours discussing the finer points of his favorite teams. He also loved music and the joy it brought, whether on the dance floor or singing along whenever the moment felt right. Tom was never shy about sharing his enthusiasm — and his impressive dance moves — with others.

It was impossible not to like Tom. He was warm, funny, and endlessly kind, with a natural charm that drew people in. He brought laughter and joy wherever he went, and his presence made life brighter for those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

In addition to his wife, Jean, Tom is survived by his daughter Kristin Cherico (Joey) of Lewes, DE; his brothers Gerald Albert (Roselle) of Bear, DE, and Jeffrey “Buzzy” Albert of Wilmington, DE; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Jennifer Lynn Albert, and his brother, Andrew Albert.

A Celebration of Life honoring Tom and his late daughter, Jennifer, will be held at The Italian American Club, 30 Ways Lane, Kennett Square, PA 19348 on Saturday, January 3, 2025, from 12:00PM to 4:00PM.
