Timothy Barron Obituary

Timothy H. Barron, age 81, died of natural causes on April 6, 2024.  Tim was born in South Orange, New Jersey on April 9, 1942, to Norman M. and Frances B. Barron.

Tim was a lawyer and admitted to the bars of Delaware, New York, and Florida.  He graduated from the University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill in 1965 and from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1968.  After beginning his career in New York, Tim moved to Delaware in 1977 to join his twin brother, Norman, as a Deputy Attorney General where he spent the next twenty-seven years prosecuting a myriad of criminal cases, including many cases of Murder First Degree.  In his later years, Tim worked as an Assistant Public Defender and as a conflict attorney representing juveniles in the Delaware Family Court.

Tim will be remembered for his crazy sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him.  He was never wealthy, yet he was rich in his love of life.  He loved attending Eagles games at the old Veteran’s Stadium with his twin and friends.  Tim’s passions were first and foremost his children of whom he was most proud, UNC basketball, the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle (in ink, of course), the NFL draft, watching the Eagles and Phillies on TV, playing golf (he had an ace in Florida at the age of 64), and red wine and cheese.  Tim and Norm hosted many “Barron Cup” golf outings at The Woods Resort in Hedgesville, West Virginia, attended over the years by many of Delaware’s legal luminaries.

Tim leaves behind his wife Loren and twin children Cecelia and Apollo of Kennett Square, PA, son Christopher Barron (Tracy) of Annandale, VA, daughter Allison Dunbar (Ron) of Pasadena, CA, brother Mortimer of Amarillo, TX, and grandsons Nicholas and Kyle.  He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Fraser and Norman.

Despite many ailments in his later years, Tim maintained his zest for life.  His favorite quote: “Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body.  But rather, to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, “Wow, what a ride!””

You are invited to visit with Tim’s family from 2:00PM to 4:00PM on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Kuzo Funeral Home, 250 W. State St, Kennett Square, PA, 19348. Beginning at 3:30PM those who were close to Tim, are free to share memories of him.
